Dear Senator Bonacic:
On behalf of the New York County Lawyers’ Association (NYCLA), a bar association with 9,000 members, I want to thank you for your strong support for funding for 20 more Family Court Judges. NYCLA has long advocated for additional judges to help alleviate the crushing caseload for judges in Family Court and reduce the damage to families caused by delays in proceedings ranging from foster care placements to child support awards. Your leadership in passing legislation necessary to add the 20 new judgeships will be much appreciated by children and their families, as well as by the members of the bench and bar.
Again, we thank you for supporting New York children and families and our system of justice.
