New York County Lawyers Association Statement

on the Charlottesville, Virginia Tragedy

August 14, 2017, New York, New York – Michael McNamara, President of the New York County Lawyers Association, along with the NYCLA Executive Committee, today issued this statement on behalf of the Association.

“We join the ABA, which issued this statement, strongly condemning the horrific violence that took place in Charlottesville, Virginia this weekend, in mourning the senseless and tragic loss of life and in hoping for a rapid and complete recovery for those who were injured.

We also condemn in the strongest possible terms the vile racism on display in Charlottesville and urge all Americans to join together and speak out against the hateful bigotry of white supremacists and other extremists.”
