Good evening. My name is Megan Davis, and I’m the Chair of the NYCLA Foundation.
As most of you know, the NYCLA Foundation is a charitable organization whose purpose is to provide the association with financial assistance and to support its many educational, pro bono, and community-based programs.
I’m pleased to report that the Foundation had a successful year this past year.
We reached our fundraising goal for the year, raising a total of almost $65,000.
That number is made up of donations of about $62,000 through our year end campaign, and about $2,000 in dues check offs.
The Foundation could not have had such a successful year without the generosity and tireless efforts of our very dedicated Board of Directors; or without the extraordinary leadership of our Foundation President Richard Swanson and Executive Director Sophia Giannacopulos. I personally am so grateful for all of you, and also to Sophia’s staff, especially Christina, for making my job easier.
Before I go, I want to remind all of you in attendance tonight that our dues alone are not enough to support NYCLA’S many programs and activities. The Foundation’s fundraising helps to bridge that gap.
The NYCLA Foundation gratefully acknowledges all of the firms and individuals who have contributed to the continued well-being of the association. NYCLA depends on your support and it is very much appreciated.
