CYRUS R. VANCE JR., NY’S NEWLY ELECTED DISTRICT ATTORNEY, IS KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT NYCLA’S JUDICIAL RECEPTION ON FEBRUARY 22
February 16, 2010 – New York, NY – On Monday, February 22, the New York County Lawyers’ Association’s (NYCLA) Supreme Court Committee is hosting a judicial reception honoring newly elected, appointed, re-elected and re-appointed judges of the Appellate Division, First Department, First Judicial District and the Southern District of New York at the NYCLA Home of Law, 14 Vesey Street, beginning at 5:30 PM. Cyrus R. Vance Jr., New York’s newly elected district attorney for New York County, will be the keynote speaker. Hon. Gerard E. Lynch, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the Appellate Division, First Department’s Presiding Justice Hon. Luis A. Gonzalez and Hon. Sheila Abdus-Salaam are among the judges to be honored.
The New York County Lawyers’ Association (www.nycla.org) was founded in 1908 as the first major bar association in the country that admitted members without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, gender or sexual identity. Since its inception, it has pioneered some of the most far-reaching and tangible reforms in American jurisprudence and has continuously played an active role in legal developments and public policy.
