Can an attorney open up a real estate office and practice law at the same time:
Does the operating of a real estate office and a law practice violate any rules of conduct?
ANSWER.
It has frequently been held that there is no objection to a lawyer engaging in the real estate business as well as in the active practice of law, as long as he conducts his business venture separate from his law practice and in accordance with the other standards applicable to the practice of the legal profession Opinion No, 295, New York County Lawyers’ Association, Committee on Professional Ethics; Opinion No 295, Association of the Bar of the City of New York, Committee on Professional Ethics.
