QUESTION.
I am likely to have to go to South America for an extended period of time on a matter of business. If this happens would it be improper to place a box number advertisement under “Business Notices” in the Sunday Times to the effect that an attorney leaving for South America will accept commissions for execution there?
ANSWER.
The proposed advertisement is in violation of Canon 27 of the Canons or Professional Ethics of the New York State Bar Association for the reason that it is a solicitation of professional employment by advertisements.
The proposed advertisement is disapproved.
