General Fund (Second Century Fund)
Named in honor of NYCLA’s long history and continued commitment to public service, this fund supports all of NYCLA’s programs as well as provides general infrastructural support to the organization.
Civic Education and High School Essay Contest
Established more than 30 years ago, this program supports educational initiatives as well as a very competitive annual H.S. Essay Contest, which recognizes ten outstanding high school students with cash prizes for their submission of an essay based on a hypothetical question selected by the NYCLA’s Law Related Education Committee.
NYCLA Pro Bono Programs
Through NYCLA’s Pro Bono Programs including its Legal Counseling Project, Volunteer Lawyer for the Day programs for consumer debt matters in NYS Civil Court, Project Restore re-entry initiatives, and State Central Registry (SCR) project.
Hon. Harold Baer Jr. & Dr. Suzanne Baer Equity & Inclusion in the Judiciary Internship Program Public Service Fellowship
Established in 1989 by former NYCLA President and United States District Court Judge Harold Baer and his wife, Dr. Suzanne Baer, selects law students and places them in stipend-supported internships with judges in the New York metropolitan area.
Edith I. Spivack Fund for Women in Law & Society
Established in 2005, supports activities sponsored by NYCLA that further equal opportunity for women.
NYCLA’s Justice Center
Help fund meaningful educational programs for the public delivered by prominent academics, leading legal practitioners and public officials.
