The 12th Animal Rescue Law 2025 Update will feature presentations on a wide variety of topics of interest to animal lovers, as well as lively discussions.

 

Topics include:

 

  • History of Guide Dogs and Emotional Support Animals: Warren Shaw is a noted local historian with a specialty in the history of disability law. He will examine the development of service animals for people with disabilities.
  • Whales in Our Midst: Artie Koppelman is a celebrated scientist specializing in whales. He will explore the various species of whales swimming through ocean waters.
  • Animals in Hollywood: Thomas Campbell is a film professor and critic and is a member of the nation’s oldest motion picture society. He will present on the sordid history of Hollywood’s use of animals in feature motion pictures and recent hopeful developments.
  • India and its Wildlife Protection Laws: Dalia Ghosh Dastidar is a zoologist, Fulbright Scholar and expert in venomous snake fieldwork. She has worked closely with the Irula, an indigenous group in Tamil Nadu, India, known for their remarkable skill with venomous snakes. She will be discussing the interaction of indigenous communities and national wildlife protection laws.

Online Videos contain CLE codes that you must type into a supplied online affirmation form. Submit the online affirmation to the NYCLA CLE Institute to be issued a CLE certificate. We recommend that you watch the video as soon as possible.

We can only issue CLE credit if the law is still current.
