For the 48th year, Program Chairs Robert and Joshua Kelner and a distinguished panel of litigators, judges and mediators will discuss what you need to know to litigate, settle or mediate/arbitrate cases.

This year the program will be presented in 2 half days and fulfill the LIVE Skills and Ethics CLE requirements, including a Cybersecurity credit, for first and second year newly admitted attorneys in NY. The program is also a great refresher for more experienced litigators, as well as a great resource for attorneys interested in litigation.

Day 1, May 1 (9:30 am – 1:45 pm): Preparing for Trial

  • Pre-trial Practice: An Overview of Commercial and Personal Injury Litigation
  • Preparation of Plaintiffs and Defendants
  • Conference, Settlement and Mediation – The Rising Importance in Resolving Disputes
  • Practice Tips from the Bench: How to Survive and Flourish in Today’s Court System

Day 2, May 2 (9:30 am – 1:45 pm): Litigation Skills

  • Scams, Data Breaches and Using AI (ChatGPT) Technology Ethically in the Law Office … and From Home
  • Voir Dire and an Interactive Demonstration
  • Summations and War Stories With a Message
