NYCLA AND MUNICIPAL ART SOCIETY PRESENT FREE SCREENING OF DOCUMENTARY ON NEW YORK CITY’S WATERFRONT

OCTOBER 24, 2007 – NEW YORK, NY – On Tuesday, November 6, the New York County Lawyers’ Association’s (NYCLA) Construction Law Committee and The Municipal Art Society are screening City of Water, a documentary film about the future of the New York City waterfront, at the NYCLA Home of Law, 14 Vesey Street, at 7:00 PM. Produced by The Municipal Art Society and Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance, the 30-minute documentary features interviews with Deputy Mayor Daniel Doctoroff, U.S. Representative Nydia Velazquez, MacArthur Fellow Majora Carter, author Phillip Lopate, Sandy Hook Pilots Captain Andrew McGovern and many others, and includes footage from Jamaica Bay, the Brooklyn Navy Yard and other places on the waterfront.

NYCLA (www.nycla.org) was founded in 1908 as the first major bar association in the country that admitted members without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, gender or sexual identity.
