New York County Lawyers Association Statement on the
Passing of Kenneth J. Bialkin
New York, New York (8/27/2019) – New York County Lawyers Association (NYCLA) President Stephen C. Lessard issued this statement today on behalf of the Association:
“The New York County Lawyers Association expresses its deep sorrow at the passing of our Past NYCLA President, Kenneth J. Bialkin. Kenneth served as the 42nd President of the New York County Lawyers Association from 1986-1988. He dedicated his life to improving the rule of law and received the New York County Lawyers Association Distinguished Service Award. Kenneth will be remembered for the many lives he impacted and his committed service to the legal profession. We extend our most sincere condolences to his family on his passing.”
Mr. Bialkin graduated from Harvard Law School in 1953 and was most recently a partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York City before retiring. In addition to his work with the bar, he was a strong advocate for the American Jewish community over the years, previously serving as chairman of the Anti-Defamation League, Chairman of the American Israel Friendship League, and President of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York.
