During difficult economic times it is not surprising to see an explosion in employment-related litigation. Therefore, it is more important than ever for attorneys to gain a familiarity with discriminatory employment practices. Part 1 covers pre-trial issues including an overview of agency practice, how to draft a complaint and answer, as well as discovery tips and techniques from both the plaintiff’s and defendant’s perspectives. Part 2 covers the trial phase, including an overview of mediation in employment discrimination cases, pre-trial motions and trial techniques and tactics – from both the employer’s and employee’s point of view.
